Buffalo Harbor State Park opened on the Outer Harbor in 2014, giving the city a proper state park on Lake Erie. The 190-acre waterfront area includes Gallagher Beach, Safe Harbor Marina, picnic space, play areas, fishing access, and paths with open lake views. It is one of Buffalo's easiest places to get out by the water.
