St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral is one of downtown Buffalo's strongest church buildings, designed by Richard Upjohn and completed in 1849. It was once the tallest building in the city and is now a National Historic Landmark. The pointed Gothic tower and stonework make it a good architecture stop near Niagara Square, City Hall, and the Guaranty Building.
