Kleinhans Music Hall is one of Buffalo's great 20th-century interiors, designed by Eliel and Eero Saarinen and opened in 1940. Its clean curves and warm acoustic design make it a very different architectural experience from the city's Romanesque churches and Art Deco towers.
The best way to see it is at a concert, especially a Buffalo Philharmonic performance. Even if you are not a classical music regular, the hall itself is worth the ticket: restrained, elegant, and one of the city's quiet architectural triumphs.
