Gallagher Beach is a Lake Erie waterfront spot within Buffalo Harbor State Park, long used by South Buffalo residents as an informal swimming and sunbathing area. Today it is more useful for shoreline time, fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, and views across the harbor.
Swimming is not the main reason to come, and local rules can be restrictive. Treat it as a casual waterfront stop, especially if you are already visiting Tifft Nature Preserve or the Outer Harbor.
