Fargo Estate Historic District is a compact West Side residential district on the south slope of Prospect Hill. It grew from the former estate of William Fargo, co-founder of Wells Fargo, after the land was subdivided around 1890.
The appeal is the intact streetscape of late-19th- and early-20th-century houses, with Italianate, Second Empire, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Craftsman, and American Foursquare details. Architecture-minded visitors can combine it with nearby Allentown and other Buffalo preservation walks.
