The Royal Botanical Garden at Serbithang is Bhutan's only botanical garden, laid out on the hillside south of central Thimphu. It was founded in 1999 and is managed by the National Biodiversity Centre, with collections focused on Bhutanese plant diversity.
It is a quiet stop rather than one of Thimphu's headline monuments. Go if you want a break from dzongs, traffic, and museums, or if you are interested in the native trees, medicinal plants, and mountain flora that shape Bhutan's valleys.
