About 65 km south of Kuching, Annah Rais is one of the most accessible authentic Bidayuh longhouses in Sarawak. The community still occupies the traditional longhouse structure — a row of interconnected family apartments under a single roof — and charges a small entrance fee that goes directly to the community. Day visits are straightforward; staying overnight is also possible and gives a much better sense of longhouse life. The drive passes through plantation and secondary forest.
