Levon's Divine Underground is one of Yerevan's strangest small museums: a network of chambers, stairs, and niches dug by hand beneath a private house. Levon Arakelyan worked on it for years, following a personal vision that turned domestic basement space into something between folk art, devotion, and obsession.
The visit is intimate and a little surreal. You descend through rough-cut passages while the story of the digging matters as much as the chambers themselves. It is a good counterpoint to Yerevan's grand Soviet avenues and formal museums, showing the city's private, eccentric side.
