The Contemporary Art Centre (Šiuolaikinio meno centras) on Vokiečių Street is Lithuania's main institution for international contemporary art. The large exhibition spaces — housed in a former administrative building — host rotating shows that bring significant international artists to Vilnius alongside Lithuanian contemporary work. The programming is ambitious for a city of this size.
The centre has a good bookshop focused on contemporary art, design, and architecture, which is worth visiting even outside exhibition hours. The building's Soviet-era interior has been adapted effectively for art use. Vokiečių St. 2. Open Tue–Sun 12:00–20:00.
