The Art Bridge is a pedestrian bridge over the Vardar, linking the cafe area east of Macedonia Square with the government quarter. It is lined with statues of North Macedonian artists and musicians, making it one of the more theatrical pieces of central Skopje's recent city-building project.
It is not subtle, and that is part of the point. Cross it as part of a walk between Macedonia Square, the Stone Bridge, and the riverfront, where Skopje's mix of Ottoman, socialist, and newly monumental architecture is easiest to read.
