Mount Vodno rises just southwest of central Skopje and is the city's easiest mountain escape. Trails and viewpoints look back over the valley, and the slopes hold several sights that can be combined into a half-day above the city.
The mountain is best treated as a viewpoint and outdoor stop rather than a quick photo errand. Clear days give the strongest reward, with Skopje spread out below and the surrounding hills beyond.
