Debar Maalo is Skopje's easygoing bohemian quarter, a neighbourhood of leafy streets, cafes, restaurants, and bars just west of the centre. It grew in the 1920s with families displaced from the Debar region, and today it is one of the best places in the city for a slow meal or a relaxed evening out.
