The Bedesten is the covered market at the heart of Skopje's Old Bazaar, where merchants once locked away the most valuable goods at night. Silk, spices, jewellery, and perfumes were traded here, and the stone arcades still help explain how the Ottoman bazaar worked as both a market and a guarded storehouse.
