Tumba is one of the most important Neolithic sites in the Skopje valley. Excavations here produced major finds, including the Great Mother figure now held by the Museum of Macedonia, and the site has reconstructed dwellings that help make the archaeology easier to picture. It is a short trip from central Skopje, but feels far removed from the city.
