Iosefin Market

Iosefin Market (Piata Iosefin) is Timisoara's main daily farmers' market and the central hub of the Iosefin district. The covered hall, built in the 1880s and modernised in the 1990s, sits on King Carol I Boulevard about ten minutes' walk west of the centre across the Iron Bridge.

The market is busiest on Saturday mornings when growers from the surrounding villages bring in seasonal produce — peppers, tomatoes, melons and squash in summer, cabbages and pickled vegetables in winter, plus year-round dairy, eggs and homemade plum brandy. The covered section is mostly butchers and cheesemongers; flowers and bread are on the western end. Open daily 6am to 6pm.
