Diego Rivera was born in this small Guanajuato house in 1886 and lived there for the first six years of his life. The ground floor has been restored as a nineteenth-century bourgeois interior with period furniture; the upper floors house a substantial collection of Rivera's drawings, sketches, and early paintings, with a particularly good selection of his European-period work before he developed the muralist style.
A short visit (an hour) and worth combining with the adjacent Don Quixote museum.
