The Ex-convent Museum Dieguino preserves excavated remains of the 17th-century cloister that once stood with the Templo de San Diego. The underground setting makes it a useful stop for seeing the older layers beneath Guanajuato's central theatre-and-church district.
It is a compact museum, sometimes also used for photography and art exhibits, and works best when combined with nearby Teatro Juarez, Jardin de la Union, and the San Diego church.
