A half-mile lane east of the Plaza, lined with more than a hundred art galleries packed into the adobes that originally housed Santa Fe families. The galleries run the full range from earnest landscape painters to contemporary sculpture to native crafts — quality is high, prices higher.
Even non-buyers should spend a couple of hours walking the road. Friday-evening openings (April through October) turn the whole street into a free art crawl with wine and snacks. The annual Christmas Eve farolito walk, when 4,000 paper-lantern luminarias line the road, is one of Santa Fe's signature evenings.
