Guadalupe District

Lively western neighbourhood with shops and music venues

The neighbourhood centred on the Santuario de Guadalupe, the oldest shrine to the Virgin of Guadalupe in the United States. The streets around it — west of the Plaza, north of the Railyard — hold small galleries, vintage clothing shops, ice-cream parlours, and a couple of the city's best music venues.

A less touristed, slightly scruffier alternative to the Plaza. The annual Guadalupe feast day on 12 December brings out the city's older Hispano families in force.
