One of the oldest natural health resorts in North America and — according to the geologists — the only hot-springs complex in the world fed by four chemically distinct mineral waters (iron, lithia, soda, arsenic). Long used by the Tewa people and then by Spanish colonists, it was formally developed as a spa in 1868. Today it has outdoor soaking pools of several temperatures, a mud bath, private tubs, massage, and a small hotel and restaurant. About an hour's drive north of Santa Fe; a day pass is the quietest and cheapest way to experience it.
