IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts

Country's only museum solely for contemporary Native American art

The contemporary counterpart to the historical Native American collections on Museum Hill — this museum, half a block off the Plaza, shows only work by living Indigenous artists. The exhibitions rotate constantly and the curation is sharp; the museum is run by the Institute of American Indian Arts, the country's flagship tribal college.

Worth two hours, especially if you have already done the historical museums and want to see where Native art is going now. Closed Tuesdays.
