A 7.5-metre cross set on a low hill just north of the Plaza, commemorating the 21 Franciscan friars killed in the 1680 Pueblo Revolt. The walk up is short — maybe ten minutes from Paseo de Peralta — and the view is the best free vantage point over old Santa Fe.
A series of interpretive plaques along the path explains the colonial conflict from a fairly Franciscan perspective. Go at sunset; the light on the adobes below is what painters come here for.
