Carless Reef

A pair of submerged pinnacles rising from a deep plateau about 25 km north of Hurghada, Carless Reef is a classic blue-water Red Sea dive: you drop in along the wall, drift slowly around the pinnacles at 15–25 metres watching for grey reef sharks and eagle rays in the open water beyond the reef, and ascend through the dense fish life on the shallower top. The pinnacles are deep enough that visibility is usually excellent — well over 30 metres on calm days. It is a current-dependent dive and usually visited as a deep first dive of the day; book with a centre that does proper briefings on entry timing.
