The uninhabited Giftun Islands, about 10 km offshore, are protected as a national park and represent Hurghada's best day trip. Boat tours leave from the marina most mornings and spend a few hours on the islands' white sand beaches, surrounded by some of the Red Sea's finest coral gardens. Snorkeling here is exceptional — the reef begins just metres from shore and supports a dazzling variety of fish. Book through your hotel or any of the dive operators along the marina; expect to pay around 250–350 EGP including snorkel gear.
