Wuhan Revolution Museum (Red House)

The Red House, formally the former site of the Hubei Military Government, is a red-brick neo-classical building that briefly served as the seat of the Republic of China between October 1911 and early 1912 — between the Wuchang Uprising and Sun Yat-sen's inauguration in Nanjing. Today it is the principal museum of the 1911 Revolution.

The building's red brick and white trim make it instantly recognisable, and it sits on Shouyi Square in the heart of inner Wuchang, surrounded by a memorial park with monuments to the revolution and a statue of Sun Yat-sen. The museum's collections include weapons, documents, and personal effects of the revolutionaries. Free entry with ID; closed Mondays.
