Wuying Pagoda

Wuying Pagoda, built in 1270, is the oldest standing structure in Wuhan. It once belonged to Xingfu Temple, survived the destruction of the temple, and was moved to its present site in the 1960s.

The name means "Shadowless Pagoda", from a story that it cast no shadow at noon on the summer solstice. It is a quick but worthwhile stop for visitors tracing Wuchang's older layers.
