Luodai Ancient Town is Chengdu's best-known Hakka heritage town, with old guild halls built by migrant communities from Guangdong, Jiangxi, Huguang, and northern Sichuan. Together they tell the story of Hakka settlement in the Chengdu basin.
The town is an easy heritage excursion from Chengdu if you want something more architectural and street-level than another museum. Go for the guild halls, the Hakka Museum, and a wander through the old lanes.
