Asakusa Jinja is the Shinto shrine just east of Senso-ji, built into the same temple precinct but with a quieter, more local feel. The shrine is modest compared with its famous Buddhist neighbor, but it is historically tied to the district and is the focus of Sanja Matsuri, one of Tokyo's biggest festivals.
Visit it as part of a walk through Asakusa rather than as a stand-alone stop.
