Sumo Museum

The Sumo Museum is a small museum inside Ryogoku Kokugikan, the national sumo arena. Its rotating displays cover the history of the sport through prints, ceremonial clothing, rankings, and objects linked to famous wrestlers.

The museum is compact and mostly in Japanese, but it is a useful stop if you are visiting Ryogoku for a tournament, the arena, or the nearby Edo-Tokyo Museum area. During tournaments, entry may be limited to ticket holders.
