St. Mary's Cathedral is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Tokyo. Kenzo Tange designed the present ultramodern building in the 1960s, replacing a wartime loss with a sharply folded stainless-steel structure that is more architectural landmark than traditional church.
