Chidoriga-fuchi Moat

Chidoriga-fuchi is one of Tokyo's best-known cherry blossom spots, with trees leaning over the old Imperial Palace moat. In late March and early April the path can be packed, but the combination of blossoms, water, and palace stonework is one of the classic spring scenes in the city.

Rowboats are usually available on part of the moat, giving a different view of the blossoms and the surrounding walls. Outside cherry blossom season, the moat is quieter and works as a pleasant walk between Kitanomaru Park, Yasukuni Shrine, and the Imperial Palace area.
