Ryogoku Kokugikan is Tokyo's main sumo arena and the best place in the city to watch the sport at full scale. Grand tournaments are held here in January, May, and September, with the day building from early lower-division bouts to the top-division ring-entering ceremony and final matches in the late afternoon.
