A large central park named for Alisher Navoi, the fifteenth-century poet and statesman now positioned as Uzbekistan's national literary hero. The park has a long boulevard with a bronze statue of Navoi at one end, plus a small artificial lake, paddleboats, fountains, and a couple of cafes.
A pleasant place to spend the late afternoon. The National Library of Uzbekistan, a grand modern building, anchors the southern end of the park.
