A 375-metre lattice tower built in 1985, the tallest free-standing structure in Central Asia. The observation deck sits at 100 metres and there is a revolving restaurant a few floors above it. The views over the city are wide but not especially spectacular — Tashkent is flat and very spread out.
Entry is cheap; the restaurant is a Soviet-style night out, more about the experience than the food. Photography of the tower from outside is forbidden by old habit; in practice nobody minds.
