A 67-hectare botanic garden in the north of the city, founded in the 1920s as a research arboretum and now open to the public. Around 4,500 plant species are arranged by geographic region — Central Asian, East Asian, North American, and European sections — with mature trees, glasshouses, and a small lake.
The best urban escape in Tashkent, especially in spring when the magnolias and irises are out. Easy to combine with the TV Tower and Japanese Garden. Allow a couple of hours.
