The Church of St. James on Coudenberg stands on Place Royale, giving the square its neoclassical church front and one of the Royal District's strongest architectural set pieces. The site began as a medieval abbey church before the present building replaced it in the 18th century.
It is easy to combine with the Royal Museums of Fine Arts, the Magritte Museum, and the Royal Palace. Step inside if the doors are open, but the church also works as part of the wider Place Royale ensemble.
