Museum of Japanese Art

The Museum of Japanese Art holds a strong collection of traditional Japanese art, much of it from the Edo period. Displays can include screens, kimono, samurai armour, lacquerware, inro, netsuke, and Japanese prints shown in rotation for conservation.

The building has its own odd history: it began as covered parking for carriages and early cars before being adapted as a museum. It makes most sense as part of a wider visit to the Heizel and Laeken area.
