Laken Park is one of Brussels' grand 19th-century green spaces, laid out near the royal residence after Leopold II bought the land and gave it to the Belgian state. It is a good place to slow down after the Atomium and the Heizel sights, with broad lawns, old trees, and traces of the 1958 World's Fair nearby.
