Dynasty Monument

The Dynasty Monument stands in Laeken Park and commemorates King Leopold I and the first 50 years of Belgian independence. Built in a neo-Gothic style between 1878 and 1881, it has a tall central spire, a gilded crown, and statues representing the former Belgian provinces.

It is a short detour if you are already visiting Laeken, the Atomium, or the royal parkland. The monument is fenced off, so come for the architecture and the setting rather than close-up access.
