St. Gorik Hall is a handsome former covered market on a square that sits above one of old Brussels's buried waterways. The Flemish neo-Renaissance shell now holds exhibitions, events, and an easygoing cafe, but the building is still the main reason to step inside.
Look for the older fountain displayed in the hall, a survivor from the square's market days. It is a good low-key pause between Grand-Place and Sainte-Catherine, especially when you want a piece of Brussels history without another formal museum.
