The Japanese Tower is part of Brussels' Museums of the Far East complex near Laeken, close to the Chinese Pavilion and the Atomium. The bright red tower was commissioned under Leopold II and rises nearly 50 metres, an unusual piece of early-20th-century orientalism in the Belgian capital.
The museum interior has had long closure periods, so check the current status before planning around the collection. Even when closed, the tower is worth a look if you are already visiting the Atomium or walking through the Laeken area.
