The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken are a monumental complex of glass-and-iron greenhouses in the grounds of the Royal Castle. Designed by Alphonse Balat for King Leopold II, they combine 19th-century engineering, Art Nouveau detail, and large collections of tropical and temperate plants.
Public access is limited to a short spring opening, usually when the flowers are at their best, so check dates before planning around it.
