The Old City of Lahore was once surrounded by a wall pierced by thirteen gates. Six survive in some form: Delhi Gate (still the main entrance, leading through a covered bazaar to the Wazir Khan Mosque), Bhati Gate, Lahori Gate, Roshnai Gate, Kashmiri Gate, and Taxali Gate. The walls themselves are mostly gone, replaced by a circular boulevard, but the gates still mark the historic city's edges and each has its own story.
