Lahore Zoo

Address Shahrah-e-Quaid-e-Azam (Mall Road), Lahore

Founded in 1872, Lahore Zoo is one of the oldest in South Asia and one of the largest in Pakistan. It sits in the middle of the city, just south of the Mall on a 25-acre plot. The collection includes lions, tigers, leopards, elephants, and a respectable variety of birds.

The zoo has had a chequered animal-welfare record over the years; conditions have improved somewhat with recent investment. Worth a visit if you have children with you; otherwise low priority compared to Lahore's other attractions.
