UNESCO Mughal garden with 410 fountains and reflecting pools

A UNESCO-listed Mughal garden built by Shah Jahan in 1642, modelled on the Persian charbagh (four-garden) pattern — three terraces stepping down with 410 marble-edged fountains, cypresses, and reflecting pools. Designed by the same master planners behind the Taj Mahal's gardens. The water channels and fountains still work, fed from an aqueduct that runs all the way from Rajpot, 160 km to the north.

A story
Shah Jahan diverted a canal 160 kilometres from the Rajpot foothills to bring water to the garden's 410 fountains — the Shahnehri canal, which still flows beside the eastern walls. The plan was for the canal to continue all the way to Delhi; budget ran out at Lahore.
