Lahore High Court

The Lahore High Court occupies one of the great Indo-Saracenic civic buildings of the subcontinent — a long red-brick pile with white-marble domes, completed in 1889 to a design by Sir Ganga Ram. The building combines British court typology (panelled chambers, oak benches, a tower with a clock) with deeply Indian decorative detail.

The interior is not generally open to visitors, but the lawns and the exterior are accessible. The building looks particularly imposing at night when floodlit. Worth pausing for on the Mall walk between the Museum and Charing Cross.
