Figlmüller

The most famous Wiener Schnitzel in Vienna, served at this family restaurant since 1905. The schnitzel here is the size of a dinner plate — pounded thin to the rim of the dish — and the kitchen serves around 600 of them a day. Bäckerstrasse and Wollzeile branches.

The traditional accompaniments are warm potato salad and a small green salad. Eat the schnitzel hot — it goes soggy if you let it sit. Expect to queue at peak times; reservations are accepted but not guaranteed. About 25 euros for the schnitzel.
