Fjellveien is the easy balcony walk above central Bergen, running along the lower slopes between the city and the mountains. It gives you many of the rewards of a hike without committing to a full climb: harbour views, wooden houses below, forest edges above, and sudden glimpses of fjord weather moving across town.
Use it as a quieter alternative or extension to Fløyen. You can join the road from several neighbourhood paths, walk a stretch, and drop back toward the centre when you have had enough. It is especially good after rain, when the air clears and Bergen's roofs, water, and mountains line up sharply.
