Avila Adobe and Visitor Center

Avila Adobe is the oldest surviving house in Los Angeles, built in 1818 and preserved inside El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Monument. The rooms are furnished to suggest domestic life in the 1840s, giving Olvera Street's busy heritage district a more concrete historical anchor.

The building also houses visitor information for El Pueblo, so it is an easy first stop before walking the plaza, market street, and nearby Union Station.
