The Wiltern

Turquoise Art Deco theatre at Wilshire and Western, now a prized concert venue

A 1931 Art Deco landmark at the corner of Wilshire and Western — the source of the portmanteau name — clad in striking blue-green glazed terracotta. Originally a vaudeville and film palace, it was saved from demolition in the 1980s and now operates as one of the city's best mid-sized concert halls, with a lush Zigzag Moderne interior.

There is nothing to see inside outside of show times, but the exterior is one of the finest pieces of Art Deco in Los Angeles and worth a look on any walk through Koreatown. Check the listings — catching a gig here is the proper way to experience the room.
